Spoke to my actress friend last night. Looks like she's not going to be able to work on it, so she gave me her blessing to continue on without her.
Another actress friend of mine expressed interest in helping and playing one of the side parts, but maybe she'll want to read for the lead now, I dunno.
And it means that it's on me to find a director and crew, which is somewhat daunting.
The script is in really good shape though, and I'm proud of it. People seem to like it, so hopefully this is just a hiccup that will still lead to a great project.
